Syaikh Fuad merasa perlu mencantumkan hadits ini agar para suami
berbenah diri; tidak hanya menuntut istri mempersembahkan yang terbaik
bagi dirinya, tetapi juga ia mempersembahkan yang terbaik untuk
istrinya.
Empat nasihat ini secara khusus mengajarkan suami untuk berpenampilan menarik di rumah.
Berikut ini, empat nasihat itu:
Cucilah Bajumu
Nasehat pertama ini memiliki dua dimensi. Dimensi pertama ada pada proses. Dimensi kedua terletak pada hasilnya.
Sebagai sebuah proses, “cucilah bajumu” berarti berbagi dengan istri
dalam menyelesaikan pekerjaan-pekerjaan domestik, khususnya bagi
keluarga yang tidak memiliki khadimat.
Mencuci baju tidak dibebankan kepada istri saja, melainkan suami juga
melakukannya. Baik mencuci dengan tangan maupun dengan mesin cuci.
Konsep berbagi peran inilah yang diteladankan oleh Rasulullah. Kendati
beliau adalah Nabi, pemimpin negara, qiyadah dakwah dan panglima perang,
beliau menyempatkan diri untuk membantu istri-istrinya menyelesaikan
pekerjaan-pekerjaan rumah tangga.
Ditinjau dari dimensi hasil, “cucilah bajumu” membuat suami tampil
dengan pakaian rapi di depan istrinya. Tidak kusut. Tidak menyebalkan.
Mungkin sebagian suami tidak merasa perlu tampil rapi di hadapan
suaminya, terlebih ketika malam tiba. Namun, jika ia menuntut istrinya
tampil prima di depannya, mengapa ia tidak menuntut dirinya melakukan
hal yang sama?
Bukankah Islam menjunjung keadilan? Kita para suami kadang belum juga
mengerti bahwa wanita itu tidak selalu mencurahkan perasaannya kepada
suami.
Ia kadang menyimpannya di hati dan berusaha menyabarkan diri. Saat kita
para suami dengan mudah mengatakan “Pakaialah baju yang indah”, para
istri hanya menahan sabar melihat kita menghampirinya dengan bajuberbau.
Mari kita berusaha berubah. Menjadi suami yang lebih rapi di depan istri.
Rapikan rambutmu
Ketika berangkat kerja, ketika pergi ke kantor, ketika hendak syuro,
ketika mau mengisi pengajian, kita para lelaki yang katanya tidak suka
dandan, minimal merapikan rambut.
Lalu saat hanya berdua dengan istri, mengapa kita tidak melakukan hal
serupa? Bukankah jika begitu kita lebih mengutamakan orang lain daripada
istri kita sendiri? Padahal rekan-rekan kerjanya tidak memasakkannya.
Teman-temannya juga tak bisa merawatnya ketika ia sakit. Yang setia
menemani, yang setia merawat adalah istri. Dan tidak ada orang lain yang
bisa menghangatkannya di kala kedinginan kecuali istrinya sendiri. Lalu
mengapa kita sebagai suami justru tak bisa tampil rapi saat bersamanya?
Gosoklah gigimu
Bau mulut adalah satu hal yang mengganggu komunikasi dan menjadi
pembatas kedekatan. Ketika seorang suami tak suka istrinya mengeluarkan
bau saat ia berbicara, demikian pula istri sebenarnya tak suka jika
suaminya menghampirinya dengan bau yang tak sedap.
Adalah junjungan kita yang mulia, Rasulullah shallallahu ‘alaihi
wasallam, setiap akan masuk rumah, beliau bersiwak terlebih dahulu.
Dalam hadits yang diriwayatkan Imam Muslim, Bunda Aisyah menjadi saksi
kebiasaan Rasulullah ini. Ketika ditanya, “Apa yang dilakukan pertama
kali oleh Rasulullah jika dia memasuki rumahnya?” Beliau menjawab:
”Bersiwak”.
Maka sungguh nasehat ini harus dikerjakan oleh para suami. Hendaklah ia rajin bersiwak atau menggosok giginya.
Jika berduaan dengan istri, pastikan sudah gosok gigi. Pastikan tak ada
bau yang mengganggu. Hingga curhat pun menjadi mengasyikkan. Hingga
berduaan pun jadi penuh kemesraan.
Dan lebih dari itu, menggosok gigi atau bersiwak mendatangkan dua
kebaikan. Kebersihan dan kesehatan mulut, serta mendatangkan keridhaan
Tuhan. “Bersiwak itu membersihkan mulut dan membuat Tuhan ridha” (HR. Al
Baihaqi dan An Nasa’i).
Berhiaslah untuk istrimu
Para sahabat Nabi adalah suami-suami yang terdepan dalam mengamalkan
nasehat ini. Ibnu Abbas mengatakan, “Aku suka berhias untuk istriku
sebagaimana aku suka istriku berhias untukku.”
Mengapa demikian, karena Ibnu Abbas yakin, “Sesungguhnya berhiasnya
suami di hadapan istrinya akan membantu istri menundukkan pandangannya
dari melihat laki-laki selain suaminya. Berhiasnya suami di hadapan
istrinya juga makin mendekatkan hati keduanya.”
Jika para sahabat yang sibuk berdakwah dan berjihad tidak lalai berhias
untuk istrinya, bagaimana dengan kita? Semoga bisa meneladani mereka.
