memberikan nafkah ke ibunya, sedangkan ibu mertua mampu & msih dapat
nafkah dari bapak mertua & dari kakak ipar setiap bulannya.

Suami takut ibunya marah jika tidak
dikasih. Jadi suami tidak bisa menafkahi istri dan anak. Apakah dalam
islam berdosa ustad/ustdzah ? Apakah islam memandang apabila tidak

Rabbil alamin. Washshalatu wassalamu ala Rasulillahi wa ala alihi wa
shahbih ajmain. Amma ba'du:
Dalam Islam jelas bahwa seorang suami
bertanggung jawab untuk memberikan nafkah kepada isteri dan
anak-anaknya. Hal ini sebagaimana ditegaskan dalam Alquran surat an-Nisa
ayat 34 dan al-Baqarah 233. Meskipun kondisi isteri mampu,
berkecukupan, bahkan kaya, kewajiban untuk memberikan nafkah keluarga
tetap menjadi tanggung jawab suami, kecuali kalau isteri ridha dg kead
an yang ada. Namun jika tidak, dan suami tetap
tidak mau memberikan nafkah
kepada isteri dan anak, maka sang
suami berdosa. Rasul saw bersabda, "Cukuplah seseorang mendapat dosa
jika ia menelantarkan orang yang menjadi tanggungannya."
Selanjutnya seorang suami memang
dituntut untuk memberikan nafkah kepada isteri dan anak, serta kepada
kedua orang tuanya jika mereka berada dalam kondisi membutuhkan dan
kekurangan. Kalau suami bisa memenuhi kebutuhan mereka semua, maka wajib

Namun jika penghasilan atau hartanya
tidak cukup untuk memenuhi kebutuhan semua, maka harus ada prioritas.
Yaitu yang harus didahulukan adalah isteri dan anak yang memang berada
dalam tanggung jawab utamanya sebagai seorang suami. Hal ini berdasarkan
sabda Rasul saw, "Mulailah dari dirimu dengan bersedekah (memberikan
nafkah) untuknya. Lalu jika ada yang tersisa maka untuk keluargamu
(isteri dan anakmu). Jika masih ada yang tersisa, maka untuk karib
kerabatmu (orang tua, saudara dst), dan begitu seterusnya."
Imam an-Nawawi berkata, "Apabila pada
seseorang berhimpun orang-orang membutuhkan dari mereka yang harus ia
nafkahi, maka bila hartanya cukup untuk menafkahi semuanya, ia harus
menafkahi semuanya, baik yang dekat maupun yang jauh. Namun apabila
sesudah ia menafkahi dirinya, yang tersisa hanya nafkah untuk satu
orang, maka ia wajib mendahulukan isteri daripada karib kerabatnya yang
lain...(Raudhah ath-Thalibin).
Melihat pada kasus Anda, hendaknya
suami mendahulukan yang menjadi kewajibannya, yaitu menafkahi isteri dan
anak. Jika kondisinya benar-benar tidak mampu menafkahi ibunya, maka
suami tidak berdosa karena Allah tidak membebani seseorang di luar
kemampuannya. Hanya saja, hal ini harus dibicarakan secara baik-baik
disertai dg pemberian pemahaman. Kalau ibu masih tetap bersikeras untuk
mendapat nafkah suami, sementara Anda sebagai isteri ridha demi untuk
menjaga keutuhan dan kebahagiaan rumah tangga, maka Anda mendapatkan
pahala yang besar insya Allah. Namun jika tidak ridha, Anda berhak untuk
menuntut suami.
