Matahari dan bulan dijanjikan oleh Allah SWT akan dimasukan ke dalam
neraka pada akhirat kelak. Dalam sebuah hadist yang diriwayatkan
Thohawi, Nabi Muhammad SAW menjelaskan bahwa kedua anggota tata surya
ini saat hari kiamat akan seperti sapi jantan yang terikat lalu kemudian
dilemparkan ke neraka.
Mengapa demikian?
Padahal matahari dan bulan memiliki fungsi yang begitu besar saat ini.
Allah SWT menciptakan matahari dan bulan untuk menerangi dunia, serta
untuk mengetahui bilangan tahun dan perhitungan waktu. Lantas kenapa
keduanya justru dimasukan ke dalam neraka. Apakah keduanya juga akan
mendapat siksaan layaknya penghuni neraka?
Imam Abu Bakar
Al-Isma’ili berpendapat jika keduanya dimasukkan ke dalam neraka sebagai
bahan bakar api neraka. Namun hal ini dibantah oleh Imam Suyuti yang
mengatakan bahwa matahari dan bulan tidak semestinya di dalam neraka
menjalani siksa.
“Karena sesungguhnya di
dalam neraka juga ada malaikat, batu dan lain-lainnya yang berfungsi
untuk menyiksa penghuni neraka dan sebagai alat-alat penyiksaan. Dan
atas kehendak Allah, meskipun ada di neraka, mereka tidak merasa
tersiksa. ("La'ali' Al-Masnu'ah" Karya imam As-Suyuti (1/76))
Ini berarti, matahari
dan bulan menjadi alat untuk menyiksa manusia yang tidak baik saat
menjalani kehidupan di dunia. Seperti halnya dengan malaikat-malaikat
ganas di neraka, hewan-hewan ganas dan juga benda-benda yang mengerikan
seperti cambuk, rantai, api yang super panas, batu, dan lain-lain yang
tugasnya untuk menyiksa manusia.
Matahari dan bulan akan
dimasukkan ke dalam neraka saat semua penghuni neraka sudah masuk. Hal
ini tentu akan semakin menyiksa golonga jin dan manusia yang ingkar
kepada Allah SWT. Dari sinilah kita semakin tau betapa besarnya ukuran
Neraka, dan betapa ngerinya siksaan yang ada didalamnya
Dimasukkannya matahari
dan bulan ke neraka adalah untuk memberikan penyesalan kepada mereka
yang pernah menyembahnya. Imam Al-Qurthubi menjelaskan, keduanya
dikumpulkan dalam neraka bukan karena zab bagi mereka berdua, pasalnya
keduanya tidak bernyawa. Keduanya diperlakukan demikian untuk membuat
orang kafir semakin bungkam dan menyesal.
Hal ini juga sesuai
dengan ayat AlQuran Surat Al Qiyamah:7-9, dimana ayat tersebut
menyebutkan tentang keadaan pada hari kiamat yang artinya “Apabila mata
telah terbelalak, dan bulan telah padam, Lalu matahari dan bulan
dikumpulkan”. (Al Qiyamah:7-9).
Sebelum akhirnya
dimasukkan ke neraka Allah akan memunculkan matahari saat di padang
Mahsyar dan akan didekatkan ke tempat padang mahsyar dengan
sedekat-dekatnya, dengan pancaran sinar yang begitu panas, hal ini
fungsinya untuk membuktikan seberapa banyak amal-amal manusia.
Sehingga semua manusia
saat itu pada tenggelam karena keringatnya sendiri "tentunya sesuai
tingkatan amal yang mereka kerjakan saat di dunia", berapa lamanya saat
di padang mahsyar ini hanyalah Allah yang mengetahuinya.
Rasulullah Shallallahu Alaihi Wasallam bersabda: Artinya:
“Pada hari kiamat,
matahari didekatkan jaraknya terhadap makhluk hingga tinggal sejauh satu
mil.” –Sulaim bin Amir (perawi hadits ini) berkata: “Demi Allah, aku
tidak tahu apa yang dimaksud dengan mil.
Apakah ukuran jarak
perjalanan, atau alat yang dipakai untuk bercelak mata??” Nabi
shallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam bersabda: “Sehingga manusia akan tersiksa
dalam keringatnya sesuai dengan kadar amal-amalnya (yakni dosa-dosanya)
(HR Muslim)
