SURAT Al Ikhlas, seperti halnya surat-surat yang lain juga memiliki banyak rahasia yang terkandung di dalamnya. Dinamakan surat Al Ikhlas, karena dia menyelamatkan orang yang membacanya dari kesulitan dunia akherat, dari kesulitan sakarotul maut, dari kesulitan kegelapan malam dan dari segala kesulitan resiko di hari kiamat.

Ternyata ada waktu tertentu yang dianjurkan membaca surat Al-Ikhlas. Berikut sembilan waktu yang dianjurkan untuk mengamalkan surat Al-Ikhlas:Pertama: waktu pagi dan sore hari
Pada malam hujan lagi gelap gulita kami keluar mencari Rasulullah shallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam untuk shalat bersama kami, lalu kami menemukannya. Beliau bersabda, “Apakah kalian telah shalat?” Namun sedikitpun aku tidak berkata-kata. Beliau bersabda, “Katakanlah“. Namun sedikit pun aku tidak berkata-kata. Beliau bersabda, “Katakanlah“. Namun sedikit pun aku tidak berkata-kata. Kemudian beliau bersabda, “Katakanlah“. Hingga aku berkata, “Wahai Rasulullah, apa yang harus aku katakan?” Rasulullah shallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam bersabda, “Katakanlah (bacalah surat) QUL HUWALLAHU AHAD DAN QUL A’UDZU BIRABBINNAAS DAN QUL A’UDZU BIRABBIL FALAQ ketika sore dan pagi sebanyak tiga kali, maka dengan ayat-ayat ini akn mencukupkanmu (menjagamu) dari segala keburukan.” (HR. Kedua: sebelum tidur

“Nabi shallallahu ’alaihi wa sallam ketika berada di tempat tidur di setiap malam, beliau mengumpulkan kedua telapak tangannya lalu kedua telapak tangan tersebut ditiup dan dibacakan ’Qul huwallahu ahad’ (surat Al Ikhlash), ’Qul a’udzu birobbil falaq’ (surat Al Falaq) dan ’Qul a’udzu birobbin naas’ (surat An Naas). Kemudian beliau mengusapkan kedua telapak tangan tadi pada anggota tubuh yang mampu dijangkau dimulai dari kepala, wajah, dan tubuh bagian depan. Beliau melakukan yang demikian sebanyak tiga kali.” (HR. Bukhari no. 5017)

Ketiga: ketika ingin meruqyah (membaca do’a dan wirid untuk penyembuhan ketika sakit)

Dari ‘Aisyah radhiyallahu ‘anha, dia berkata, “Apabila Rasulullah shallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam hendak tidur, beliau akan meniupkan ke telapak tangannya sambil membaca QUL HUWALLAHU AHAD (surat Al Ikhlas) dan Mu’awidzatain (Surat An Naas dan Al Falaq), kemudian beliau mengusapkan ke wajahnya dan seluruh tubuhnya. Aisyah berkata, “Ketika beliau sakit, beliau menyuruhku melakukan hal itu (sama seperti ketika beliau hendak tidur, -pen).”  (HR. BukhariKeempat: wirid seusai shalat (sesudah salam)
“Rasulullah shallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam memerintahkan padaku untuk membaca mu’awwidzaat  di akhir shalat (sesudah salam).” (HR. An Nasai no. 1336 dan Abu Daud no. 1523. Syaikh Al Albani mengatakan bahwa hadits ini shahih). Yang dimaksud mu’awwidzaat adalah surat Al Ikhlas, Al Falaq dan An Naas sebagaimana dikatakan oleh Ibnu Hajar Al Asqolani. (Fathul Bari, 9/62)

Kelima: dibaca ketika mengerjakan shalat sunnah fajar (qobliyah shubuh)

“Sebaik-baik surat yang dibaca ketika dua raka’at qobliyah shubuh adalah Qul huwallahu ahad (surat Al Ikhlash) dan Qul yaa ayyuhal kaafirun (surat Al Kafirun).” (HR. Ibnu Khuzaimah 4/273. Syaikh Al Albani mengatakan dalam Silsilah Ash Shohihah bahwa hadits ini shahih. Lihat As Silsilah Ash Shohihah no. 646). Hal ini juga dikuatkan dengan hadits Ibnu Mas’ud yang akan disebutkan pada point berikut.

Keenam: dibaca ketika mengerjakan shalat sunnah ba’diyah maghrib
“Aku tidak dapat menghitung karena sangat sering aku mendengar bacaan Rasulullah shallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam membaca surat pada shalat dua raka’at ba’diyah maghrib dan pada shalat dua raka’at qobliyah shubuh yaitu Qul yaa ayyuhal kafirun (surat Al Kafirun) dan qul huwallahu ahad (surat Al Ikhlash).” (HR. Ketujuh: dibaca ketika mengerjakan shalat witir tiga raka’at

“Nabi shallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam membaca pada raka’at pertama: Sabbihisma robbikal a’la (surat Al A’laa), pada raka’at kedua: Qul yaa ayyuhal kafiruun (surat Al Kafirun), dan pada raka’at ketiga: Qul huwallahu ahad (surat Al Ikhlash) dan mu’awwidzatain (surat Al Falaq dan An Naas).” (HR. An Nasai no. 1699, Tirmidzi no. 463, Ahmad 6/227)

Kedelapan: dibaca ketika mengerjakan shalat Maghrib (shalat wajib) pada malam jum’at
“Nabi shallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam biasa ketika shalat maghrib pada malam Jum’at membaca Qul yaa ayyuhal kafirun’ dan ‘Qul ‘ huwallahu ahad’. ” (Syaikh Al Albani dalam Takhrij Misykatul Mashobih (812) mengatakan bahwa sanad hadits ini shahih)

Kesembilan: ketika shalat dua rak’at di belakang maqom Ibrahim setelah thowaf
“Lantas Nabi shallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam menjadikan maqom Ibrahim antara dirinya dan Ka’bah, lalu beliau laksanakan shalat dua raka’at. Dalam dua raka’at tersebut, beliau membaca Qulhuwallahu ahad (surat Al Ikhlas) dan Qul yaa-ayyuhal kaafirun (surat Al Kafirun).
