merupakan perbuatan membuang angin melalui anus, Pada satu kondisi dimana seseorang
bisa saja kelepasan buang angin atau kentut ditempat umum. Hal ini biasanya
akan diikuti gelak tawa atau ejekan dari orang-orang disekitarnya. Sepintas, tindakan
itu terlihat lumrah dan biasa saja.
Namun ternyata dalam Agama Islam menertawakan orang
yang kentut menjadi salah satu perhatian Rasulullah. Selain membuat mereka
malu, tindakan menertawakan orang yang kelepasan kentut merupakan perilaku kaum
jahiliyah terdahulu.
Kentut merupakan bagian dari rangkaian metabolisme
tubuh dan semua manusia normal mengalami hal tersebut. Lantas mengapa tertawa

menceritakan bahwa pada suatu hari
Rasulullah shallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam menyampaikan khutbah. Beliau
menceritakan tentang kisah onta Nabi Sholeh yang disembelih kaumnya yang
membangkang. Beliau menafsirkan firman Allah di surat as-Syams.
Kemudian beliau menasehati agar bersikap lembut dengan
wanita, dan tak boleh memukulnya. Kemudian beliau menasehati sikap sahabat yang
tertawa ketika mendengar ada yang kentut.
“Mengapa kalian mentertawakan kentut yang kalian juga
biasa mengalaminya.” (HR. Bukhari 4942 dan Muslim 2855).
Ternyata menertawakan orang yang kentut merupakan salah
satu tindakan jahiliyah. Dalam Tuhfatul Ahwadzi, Syarh Sunan Turmudzi,
Al-Mubarokfuri mengatakan, bahwa ketika zaman Jahiliyah, jika dalam suatu
majelis ada yang kentut, maka mereka beramai-ramai menertawakannya. Namun
kemudian Rasulullah melarangnya.
Imam Ibnu Utsaimin menjelaskan : Umumnya orang akan
menertawakan dan terheran dengan sesuatu yang tak pernah terjadi pada dirinya.
Sementara sesuatu yang juga dialami dirinya, tak selayaknya dia
menertawakannya. Karena itulah, Nabi shallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam mencela
orang yang menertawakan kentut. Karena kentut juga mereka alami. Dan semacam
ini (menertawakan kentut) termasuk adat banyak masyarakat. (Syarh Riyadhus
Sholihin, 3/120).
Kemudian Imam Ibnu Utsaimin juga menyebutkan satu
kaidah : Ini merupakan isyarat bahwa tak sepantasnya bagi manusia untuk mencela
orang lain dengan sesuatu yang kita juga biasa mengalaminya. Maroji’ : syarh
riyadlush sholihin, (Syarh Riyadhus Sholihin, 3/120).
Ini juga menjadi salah satu adab dalam menjalankan
keseharian sebagai makhul sosial. Bagi yang kelepasan kentut, bisa meminta maaf
kepada orang lain karena tak mampu menahan diri. Jika bisa menahan, sebaiknya
menjauh dari keramaian. Sementara bagi yang mendengar, cukup diam saja karena
hal itu juga bisa terjadi pada diri sendiri.
