Seiring waktu berjalan, kerajaan dan kekuatannya membuatnya sombong, dia berpaling dari Allah, hingga akhirnya dia mengaku bahwadirinya Tuhan.
Shaddad,
hanya Allah yang menentukan kehidupan dan kematian. Hanya Allah yang
menciptakan surga dan neraka.” Jadi Shaddad berkata “Terus kenapa? Aku akan tunjukkan kepada kalian, aku juga bisa menentukan kehidupan dan kematian.”“Pernahkah kau merasa kasihan ketika mengambil nyawa seseorang?”
Malaikat maut menjawab “Ya, aku ingat ada seorang wanita hamil yang sedang bepergian dengan kapal laut. Allah memerintahkanku untuk mencabut nyawanya. Jadi dia menyuruh sekumpulan prajuritnya untuk pergi dan membawa sekumpulan warga sipil ke hadapannya. Kemudian dia membagi mereka ke dalam 2 kelompok. Setelah itu, dia berkata pada penjaganya “Bunuhlah kelompok yang pertama!”,sehingga para penjaga membunuh orang-orang pada kelompok pertama. Kemudian dia berkata pada mereka “Lihatlah, aku menentukan kematian!” Lalu dia berkata pada para penjaganya “Bunuhlah kelompok yang kedua!” dan ketika para penjaga baru saja ingin membunuh kelompok yang kedua, Shaddad berkata “Berhenti!” Kemudian dia berkata kepada mereka “Lihatlah, aku menentukan kehidupan.”

Jadi Shaddad mulai membuat surga di bumi ini. Dia

Akhirnya datanglah hari upacara pembukaannya. Shaddad sangat ingin melihat surganya dan menunjukkannya kepada orang-orang, menantang Allah. Jadi dia menunggangi kudanya dan
pergi ke surga buatannya. Ketika dia baru saja ingin turun dari
kudanya, baru melangkah satu langkah memasukinya, pada saat itu malaikat
maut sudah menunggunya. Shaddad bertanya “Siapa dirimu?” Dia berkata “Aku adalah malaikat maut dan aku telah diperintahkan oleh Allah untuk mengambil nyawamu saat ini juga.” Dan malaikat maut mengambil nyawanya. Kemudian Allah memberitahukan malaikat maut “Wahai malaikat maut, inilah bayi yang dulu kau selamatkan dari kapal yang hampir tenggelam puluhan tahun yang lalu.”
