Panglima TNI Jenderal Gatot Nurmantyo saat menjadi bintang tamu di
acara Mata Najwa dengan tema Menjaga Bhinneka yang disiarkan Metro TV
pada Rabu (2/11) malam WIB, mendapat apresiasi netizen atau warganet.
Gatot saat itu hadir bersama Kapolri Jenderal Tito Karnavian, Ketua MPR
Zulkifli Hasan, Menag Lukman Hakim Saifuddin, Ketua Umum PBNU Said Aqil
Sirajd, dan Sekretaris Umum PP Muhammadiyah Abdul Mu'ti.
Dialog
antara Gatot dan para ulama tersebut diikuti oleh beberapa pimpinan
pondok pesantren, di antaranya Ponpes Babakan dan Buntet dari Cirebon,
Al-Huda dari Aceh Besar, Al-Mustakinia dari Bogor, dan Majelis
Rasululloh serta Lembaga Islam An-Nahar. Dialog ditutup dengan pembacaan
doa oleh Kiai Muhtadi Dimyati dari Ponpes Raudatul Ulum Cidahu,

Dalam
sesi ketika pembaca acara Mata Najwa, yaitu Najwa Shihab bertanya
tentang keterlibatan TNI dalam pengamanan demonstrasi yang dilakukan
umat Islam pada 4 November 2016, Gatot menjawab dengan bijak.
"Kalau
tentara sudah turun tangan, berarti skalanya berbeda nih. Apakah
skalanya berbeda yang unjuk rasa besok?" tanya Najwa kepada Gatot.
Mantan KSAD tersebut menjawab sembari mengingatkan agar aksi umat turun
ke jalan yang dilakukan umat Islam tersebut dipandang secara positif.
"Nana
(panggilan Najwa, Red) begini. Dalam konteks ini mari kita berpikiran
positif. Bahwa yang akan melaksanakan demo itu adalah saudara-saudara
kita sebangsa se-Tanah Air. Mereka kata Kiai Abdul Mu'ti tadi, tidak
punya tempat di Mata Najwa. Sehingga mereka di jalan raya, ke Istana
(Negara). Jadi kita berpikiran positif," kata Gatot yang jawabannya
sempat membuat hadirin di studio tertawa.
Gatot
melanjutkan, "Kemudian kita mengawal, TNI turun BKO (bantuan kendali
operasi) kepolisian, kita mengawal agar saudara yang menyampaikan
aspirasinya itu tercapai. Dengan tenang tertib, menyampaikan sehingga
mereka mematuhi aturan yang disampaikan Pak Kapolri."

di-framing, apalagi cuma disetir."

itu, Gatot sangat mengapresiasi peran serta para ulama dalam membimbing
dan menyejukan umatnya agar tidak berbuat anarkis dalam aksi damai pada
4 November 2016. Walaupun para pendemo diprovokasi untuk berbuat
anarkis, kata dia, namun mereka tidak terpengaruh sama sekali.
Sehingga
demonstrasi yang diikuti ribuan umat Muslim di Jakarta dan kota-kota
besar di Indonesia dapat berjalan dengan aman, tertib dan damai,"
katanya saat dialog bersama beberapa ulama di Base Ops Lanud Halim
Perdanakusuma, Jakarta Timur, Sabtu (5/11) malam WIB, dalam siaran pers
kepada Republika.
Menurut
Gatot, dunia internasional mengakui, agama Islam di Indonesia merupakan
Islam yang demokratis dan dikenal dengan Islam rahmatan lil alamin.
“Saya sebagai umat Islam tahu betul bahwasanya saudara-saudara muslim
saya yang melaksanakan demo kemarin adalah orang-orang baik yang
berangkat dari masjid-masjid untuk menyampaikan aspirasinya,” kata
Gatot.
