Sifat ini tentu bertentangan dengan yang diajarkan Rasulullah SAW. Dalam
banyak hadistnya, Nabi Muhammad SAW mengatakan bahwa tidak akan hilang
harta orang yang bersedekah, justru Allah SWT akan mengembalikannya
dengan berlipat ganda.
Ternyata, para malaikat
juga memiliki doa khusus yang ditujukan kepada orang yang pelit, kikir
atau bakhil ini. Bukan kebaikan, namun keburukan terhadap diri dan harta
yang kita miliki. Seperti apa doanya?

berkata, “Rasulullah Shallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam bersabda yang
artinya:
'Tidak satu hari pun
dimana seorang hamba berada padanya kecuali dua Malaikat turun
kepadanya. Salah satu di antara keduanya berkata, 'Ya Allah, berikanlah
ganti bagi orang yang berinfak.' Sedangkan yang lainnya berkata, 'Ya
Allah, hancurkanlah harta orang yang kikir.'" HR. Al-Bukhari, kitab
az-Zakaah, bab Qauluhu Ta’aalaa: faman A’tha wat taqaa… (no. 1442) dan
Muslim, kitab az-Zakaah bab Fil Munfiq wal Mumsik (no. 1010).
Dari hadist diatas diketahui jelas bahwa doa malaikat terhadap orang yang kikir dan pelit ini adalah menghancurkan hartanya.
Kikir dalam makna hadist
di atas menurut Al-Malla ‘Ali al-Qari adalah orang-orang yang pelit
memberikan kebaikan dan harta kepada orang lain. Sementara itu
Al-Hafizh Ibnu Hajar rahimahullah mengatakan jika kata
“hancurkanlah”memiliki makna bahwa harta itu sendiri yang hancur atau
pemilik harta tersebut. Maksudnya adalah hilangnya kebaikan karena sibuk
dengan yang lainnya.
Selain hadist dari Imam
Al Bukhari dan Muslim, hadist lainnya yang juga membahas hal serupa
diriwayatkan oleh Imam Ahmad dan Imam Al Hakim. Dari Abi Hurairah
Radhiyallahu anhu, dari Rasulullah Shallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam, beliau
bersabda
"Sesungguhnya seorang
Malaikat yang ada di sebuah pintu dari pintu-pintu langit, berkata:
‘Barangsiapa meminjamkan pada hari ini, maka akan dibalas pada hari
nanti.’ Dan seorang Malaikat lagi yang berada pada pintu yang lain
berkata, ‘Ya Allah, berikanlah ganti bagi orang yang berinfak dan
percepatlah kehancuran harta orang yang pelit.’’ HR. Ahmad (V/198) dan
al-Hakim (II/445).
Dari Abud Darda' Radhiyallahu anhu, ia berkata, “Rasulullah Shallallahu alaihi wa sallam bersabda yang artinya:
"Tidaklah matahari
terbit kecuali diutus di dua sisinya dua Malaikat yang berseru. Semua
penduduk bumi mendengarkannya kecuali jin dan manusia, mereka berdua
berkata, 'Wahai manusia menghadaplah kalian kepada Rabb kalian, karena
yang sedikit dan cukup itu tentu lebih baik daripada yang banyak tetapi
dipakai untuk foya-foya, dan tidaklah matahari terbenam kecuali diutus
di antara dua sisinya dua Malaikat yang berseru, semua penduduk bumi
mendengarkannya kecuali jin dan manusia, mereka berdua berkata: ‘Ya
Allah, berikanlah ganti bagi orang yang berinfak dan hancurkanlah harta
orang yang pelit.’" HR. Ahmad (V/197), Ibnu Hibban (no. 686, 3329) dan
al-Hakim (II/443
Begitu ngerinya doa
malaikat tersebut sehingga kita sudah seharusnya meninggalkan sifat
kikir, pelit dan bakhil ini. Karena harta sebenarnya yang kita punya,
bukanlah seberapa besar yang kita miliki saat ini, namun berapa besar
yang kita berikan untuk kebaikan orang lain.
